The accessibility of green space is a critical issue to promote the construction of community living circle and the equalization of public services. Based on the Western political philosophy, this study explains the green resource allocation from the social and institutional dimensions, and establishes an analytical framework for explaining green space accessibility of urban residential community. It measures the green space accessibility of residential community in Ningbo and reveals its influencing mechanisms based on the accessibility model and random forest model of Amap API. The results show that: 1) Residential community in Ningbo generally exhibit good alignment with green space in Ningbo, with a large proportion having favorable access. However, the accessibility of residential communities decreases from the urban core to the outer ring expressway, which indicates the inequality between urban cores and suburbs. 2) The crucial driving forces include residents' demand, financial basis, and planning regulation, all of which exhibit nonlinear effects on the green space accessibility of residential communities. 3) Multiple social and institutional factors affect the "urban cores-suburbs" difference of green space accessibility of residential community. Among them, the population agglomeration stimulates the demand for green space supporting, the financial base affects the sustainable supply of green resources, and the planning regulation causes the urban-rural binary difference of green space supporting.
