Based on multidimensional data such as remote sensing images,latitude and longitude coordinates of enterprises,in-depth interviews and statistical yearbooks,this article studies the process and characteristics of agglomeration and land use of ferroalloy enterprises in Qugou Town in 1990-2020 by the means of the methods of remote sensing interpretation,buffer zone analysis,kernel density analysis and land use transfer matrix. The results show as follows. Firstly,the enterprise layout goes through the evolution of dot-like dispersion-zonal agglomeration-network layout during the research period. Secondly,the main types of land use in town area are industrial land,agricultural land and residential land,the conversion of land types is mainly characterized by the significant increase of industrial land and the decrease of agricultural land. Thirdly,the distribution of industrial land in town area is closely related to the situation of enterprise agglomeration. Spatial expansion shows the characteristics of contact-type,near rural settlements,highly concentrated in the south,dispersion in large scale and aggregation in small scale. Forthly,the layout of enterprises goes through the four evolution processes which are scattered and multi-core distribution,"丁"-shape distribution,"不"-shape distribution,and single-core and multi-circle distribution respectively,which promotes the spatial structure of town area across the period of occurrence,growth,stability and transition.
