Spatial Agglomeration and Dynamic Evolution of the Coupling Efficiency of Technology and Finance System in China

Abstract

Promoting the coupling efficiency of technology and finance system is one of the most important strategic fulcrums to realize the innovation-driven development in China. After figuring out the efficiencies of the technology and finance system in China from 1996 to 2014, this paper uses the methods of spatial econometric and nonparametric kernel estimate to analyze the system efficiencies' spatial agglomeration and dynamic evolution features. Also, we test empirically the developing pattern of the system. The results show that, the efficiency is overall arising, but with serious unbalanced development. The system efficiency is significant spatial autocorrelation. The high value agglomeration areas contain Shanghai, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Chongqing and Sichuan and the low value agglomeration areas contain northeast and a few west provinces. The effect of government's support on the system efficiency improving is significant positive and that of system environment is U-shaped.
