Cooperative innovation has become an important way to promote economic development and enhance the independent innovation capability of equipment manufacturing industry, which plays an significant role in the economic revitalization of the Northeast China. Using the social network analysis and ArcGIS spatial analysis method, this paper analyzes the co-innovation network structure of Government-Industry-University and the evolution characteristics of the equipment manufacturing industry in temporal and spatial in China. Besides, this paper uses the three helix algorithm to explore the degree of the innovation synergy of the Government-Industry-University. The results show that: (1) the co-innovation network of equipment manufacturing industry in Northeast China has been in a stage of rapid development after the initial exploration and slow growth stage. The number of patent applications has increased rapidly, and the ability of co-innovation has improved. (2) The scale of co-innovation network of equipment manufacturing industry has gradually expanded, but the density of the network has declined. The structure of co-innovation network tends to be loose on the whole and presents the structure of "core-edge". It is more and more obvious of the polarization effect of innovation subject. Furthermore, the co-innovation follows the geographical distance attenuation law in space. (3) University is still the main force of co-innovation network of equipment manufacturing industry in Northeast china and enterprise is expected to become a new important innovation subject. The ratio of government participation in innovation cooperation is the lowest. The cooperation of Government-Industry- University has effectively reduced the uncertainty of the scientific research system.
