Abstract

Based on the perspective of industry knowledge base, this paper constructs a theoretical analysis framework to explore the law of technological innovation network evolution of characteristic agricultural clusters with different knowledge bases,it takes the Yanling floriculture and Yantai wine industry clusters as examples. The results show that: 1) Based on the industry knowledge base, the characteristic agricultural clusters can be classified into two categories: comprehensive partial-symbolic and comprehensive partial-analytic. Due to the multidimensional proximity and industrial integration characteristics of agricultural industry clusters, the intrinsic properties of their knowledge base determine whether technological innovation in characteristic agricultural clusters is dominated by the DUI model or the STI model, which in turn determines the structural characteristics and evolutionary path of technological innovation networks during the evolution of clusters. 2) In the evolution process of "four-stage" cluster, the DUI model-dominated comprehensive partial-symbolic clusters (e.g. Yanling floriculture industry) drive the network structure evolution from star structure, small world structure, multi-core structure to multi-type structure through informal technological innovation linkages, and form a locally embedded regional innovation system. The STI model-dominated comprehensive partial-analytic clusters (e.g. Yantai wine industry) evolve from polar core structure, core edges structure, local global structure,multi-type structure through formal technological innovation linkages, and form a networked regional innovation system. 3) The creation of different regional agricultural innovation systems for different types of characteristic agricultural clusters is an effective means to promote the formation and evolution of technological innovation networks in characteristic agricultural clusters and the eventual transformation of cluster regions into rural innovation pole. 4) Both comprehensive partial-symbolic and comprehensive partial-analytical characteristic agricultural clusters should rely on the knowledge base's characteristics of the cluster and formulate technological innovation policies based on cluster innovation system theory to guide the construction of advantageous characteristic industrial clusters.
