Evaluation and Spatial-temporal Evolutionof the Quality of Tourism Development in the Yangtze River Economic Belt

Abstract

This study builds the tourism development evaluation system from the six dimensions which are tourism products and services,economic vitality,innovation development,green development,coordinated development and shared development respectively. Based on the projection pursuit evaluation model and the Geodetector,it re-measures its tourism development quality from 2008 to 2019 and reveals its internal influencing factors. Research shows that: 1) In terms of time series,the overall development level of the tourism industry in the Yangtze River Economic Belt has shown a rapid upward trend,various dimensions have a fluctuated rising and significant differences on the level and growth rate. 2) In terms of space,the areas with the higher value distribute in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River Economic Belt,such as Jiangsu,Zhejiang and Shanghai,followed by the areas in the middle and upper reaches. 3) The sub-dimension index has significant spatial differentiation. Tourism product services,innovation development,and coordinated development are decreasing from the lower reaches to the upper reaches. The highest values of tourism economic vitality and shared development are in the lower reaches,followed by the upper reaches. The highest value of green tourism development is in the middle reaches,followed by the upper reaches. 4) Tourism services,innovation output,income and welfare,industrial structure and environmental governance are the main internal influencing factors,and the degree of their effects decreases in order. The types of regional constraints can be divided into five types.
